Philip Shaw Wines
Cool-climate wines, hillside views
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Founded by former Rosemount chief winemaker Philip Shaw, this elegant cellar door on Shiralee Road is one of Orange's most celebrated wine experiences. Set around a 19th-century bluestone barn with a deck overlooking the home vineyard, it offers intimate guided tastings of cool-climate Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay grown across local vineyards.
Visitors can build their own tasting flight from the full list or choose one of the curated selections, guided by staff who know each wine's provenance in detail. The tasting fee is a fair entry point, and upgrading to a cheese and lavosh plate makes for a satisfying late-morning or afternoon session.
The historic bluestone barn, built in the late 1800s, lends a rustic warmth to the space and doubles as a venue for private events and farm-to-table dinners. The estate grows its fruit at altitude, which gives the wines a natural freshness and acidity that defines the Orange region style.
Open seven days a week throughout the year, Philip Shaw is one of the most accessible wineries in the region for casual drop-in visitors.
