Sitting at the foot of Mount Panorama, the National Motor Racing Museum celebrates more than a hundred years of Australian motorsport through a collection of over 100 racing vehicles, trophies, memorabilia and interactive displays. From Bathurst 1000 legends to motorcycle champions, the museum captures the speed, drama and personalities that define the sport's national story.
The museum's permanent collection includes some of the most significant cars and motorcycles in Australian racing history, displayed alongside the helmets, suits and personal items of the drivers who piloted them. Visitors can trace the evolution of racing technology from early open-wheelers through to modern touring cars, and learn about the circuit that sits just outside the museum doors.
Special exhibitions rotate throughout the year, with themed displays tied to major anniversaries and racing events. During the Bathurst 1000 weekend in October, the museum becomes the heart of festivities. Access may be restricted during large race events.
The museum is fully accessible, with ramp access, accessible toilets and free accessible parking. Group bookings are available for school groups and coach parties, with ample on-site parking for caravans and motor homes.
