The Great Aussie Beer Shed and Heritage Farm
Australiana in a tin shed
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Three kilometres from the Echuca town centre, the Great Aussie Beer Shed is a quirky and genuinely entertaining collection housed in a sprawling rural shed. It claims to be Australia's first beer can and brewery museum, and the guided tours, led by the owners themselves, are as much a part of the experience as the thousands of cans lining the walls.
The collection ranges from Australian and international beer cans spanning several decades to tap handles, barrels, brewery signs, and related memorabilia. Alongside the beer items, the shed holds vintage farm equipment, a partially restored cannon, antique petrol pumps, old washing machines, and a range of other Australiana that reflects the collecting passions of its owners.
The setting is authentically rural, with the museum sitting on a working property. The owners provide commentary that mixes genuine historical knowledge with dry Australian humour, making the tour accessible and entertaining for adults and older children alike.
Opening hours are focused on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays, though visits can be arranged by appointment outside those times.
