El Questro Wilderness Park sprawls across more than 700,000 acres of rugged East Kimberley terrain about 110 km west of Kununurra, accessed via the Gibb River Road. Within this vast privately managed station are gorges, thermal springs, wetlands, and red sandstone escarpments that attract adventurers from around the world. Zebedee Springs, a series of tiered thermal pools fringed with palms, is the park's most beloved attraction.
Zebedee Springs maintains a year-round temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius, fed from deep underground reservoirs through ancient fault lines. A short 1.5 km return walk through a canopy of Livistona palms and pandanus leads to the pools, which visitors can soak in each morning until noon. The gentle heat, lush vegetation, and bird calls make it one of the most serene experiences in the Kimberley.
Beyond Zebedee Springs, El Questro offers Chamberlain Gorge boat tours, the challenging El Questro Gorge walk, and dramatic Emma Gorge with its 65-metre waterfall. A visitor permit is required for all guests, whether day-tripping or staying at one of the park's accommodation options. The park operates in the dry season only, typically May to September, with access requiring a high-clearance vehicle for most gorge sites.
